Nasir-Ol-Molk Mosque is a beautiful mosque in Shiraz city because of different colors that reflect after sun radiation during the day.

History of Nasir-Ol-Molk Mosque

This mosque is the place that was built during the Qajar era in the years of 1914 until 1926 (12 years) by Hasan Ali Nasir-Ol-Molk. Building of this mosque is Iran Began from Safavid era by forming Shia government.

Architectural Aspect of Nasir-Ol-Molk Mosque

Collection of Nasir-Ol-Molk structures like cistern, mosque, bath and house are in Ashagh Beig region in Shiraz city. Most of this places are destroyed because of forming streets and developing buildings and civilization. From this houses just the main hall, parts of outside and inside yard and a basement are remained. Hasan Ali was the son of. Ghavam-ol-Molk, governor of Shiraz city in Qajar era. The hall of mosque has doors with glasses in different colors. Rooms of the mosque are covered with European and Iranian paintings. Architect of this mosque was Mohammad Hasan Memar. This mosque has a wide apron that is situated on the northern part.

Entrance has a huge arch decorated with colorful tiles. There are 2 wooden doors under this arch. Above this doors, there is a poem of Shoorideh Shirazi on the occasion of complete construction of the mosque. Nasir-Ol-Molk Mosque has two bedchambers. One of them is on the western and another one is on the eastern part. Western bedchamber is more beautiful than the other. Arch of this bedchamber is placed on stony columns that are in two six rows for respect to twelve Imams. Also this bedchamber has 7 doors with colorful glasses connected to the main apron. Coloring of this bedchamber is imitated from Vakil mosque.

Walls of this bedchamber are decorated with beautiful tiles. Upper parts of the chamber are decorated with some figures like bush, flower and some verses of Quran. Floor of that is decorated with turquoise and marble stones. This bedchamber is a summer one. Eastern bedchamber is used in winter with 7 simple columns. In front of this bedchamber, there is a big porch with width of 6 meters and 7 brick pillars.

On these pillars, there are some shapes of bushes, flowers and Quranic words. In this bedchamber, there is a door leading to a water well. The names of Hasan Memar and Reza Kashipaz ,architects of the mosque, are written in this part.

This mosque has two porches; northern and southern.

These two porches are not the same and northern one is more beautiful than southern. This place is recorded as a national work in the year of 1979.
