Local Costume of Men of The Kurds in Kurdistan, Kermanshah and West Azerbaijan

Generally speaking, Kurdish people in Iran, live in four provinces: Kurdistan, Kermanshah, some parts of West Azerbaijan and North Khorasan.

Kurdish Men`s Clothes

We can claim that almost all Kurdish people`s clothes are the same but those who live in North Khorasan wear a little different clothes from others.

All and all, clothes of Kurdish people living in Kurdistan, Kermanshah and West Azerbaijan has 12 pieces about which myDorna is going to talk about below.

Araghchin

This piece of cloth is so similar to hats. It is made of either silk or cotton.

Kolah (hat)

Some Kurdish people instead of wearing Araghchin, use hats. The hats are made of fabrics and are mostly conical.

Sar Band

Around Araghchin or Kolah, there is piece of silk called Sar Band.

Pirahan (shirt)

Kurdish people`s shirt has button at the top of it, near the neck.

Coat

Coat in the mentioned provinces has three variations but they don`t have special difference except in details and how they are worn.

Pastak

Pastak is like jerkin and it is made of nomad.

Shalvar (pants)

Kurdish people`s pants are so famous for their shape because they loose and made of fabrics.

Joorab (sucks)

The sucks of these people are made of either cotton or wool.

Kafsh (shoes)

Their shoes are mainly made of skin of sheep or animals.

Shal Kamar

This piece of cloth is similar to belt unless it is made of fabrics.
