Takht-e Soleymān is placed near Takab and Takht-e Suleiman village (Nosratabad in past), 45 kilometers of northeastern part of west Azerbaijan province. It was the largest social, religious, and training part and temple of Iranian people that was destroyed in the year of 624 by invasion of Heraclius. Abaqa khan built a mosque on destroyed place but it was also destroyed during the time and just some tiles with pictures remained that are kept in Reza Abbasi’s museum.

In Sassanian period, Iran had three main fire temples.

Name of three fires are brought here:

1. Boerzein: haughty love (near Neyshabur).

2. Farbagh: glory of God (near Azerbaijan).

3. Azargoshtasb: male horse for armies (placed in Shiz or Ganjak on mount of Asnvand).

The third one is Takht-e Soleymān. Antiquity of that dates back to 1000 years before Jesus Christ birth but glory of that dates back to Sassanian period.
