In the central part of Iran, there is desert called Dasht-e-Kavir. Almost in the middle of this desert, there is a mysterious place known as Rig-e Jenn about which people say that the elves live there and even they talk to each other that we can hear them.

About Rig-e Jenn

This region is located in the southern part of Semnan province and in the middle part of Dasht-e-Kavir. Due to the vastness of this area and inexistence of water, it was not used by caravans and nobody even knew about in the past.

What Is the Mystery of Rig-e Jenn?

According to some people who have visited this place, it is said that everything which went to Rig-e Jenn got disappeared and strange voices were heard.

But the question which arises here is that why it is said so?

According to Tasnim news agency, the reason of this question is that the salty ground of desert absorbs whatever reaches there and the strange voices that were heard are because of the movements of the sands, geographers Dr. Parviz Kardovani said.

Has Any Foreigner Visited Rig-e Jenn?

In the year of 1900, Soon Hedin, a Swedish traveler, visited Rig-e Jenn and wrote about this place and published a book about the deserts of Iran.

Attention: due to the impassable parts of the road to Rig-e Jenn, you have to walk.

How to Get There?

Since it is hard to go there, the only choice is to get a taxi or a private car.
