Description
Burnt City is a valuable heritage of history in Iran. Antiquity of Jiroft dates back to 6000 years ago, Bronze Age. This city is located in 56 kilometers near Zabol and beach of Hirmand River and Hamun Lake. The city has area of 280 hectares divided into 5 parts:
- Residential parts in northeastern
- Central parts
- Industrial region
- Cemetery
- Memorial parts
Researches of archaeologists show that the city was surrounded by different trees in the past. The city used to be one of the most popular and developed cities of the world because of different industrial parts like jewelry, handicrafts, fishing, pottery and etc.
Having found different clothes and clay dishes prove our claim. Also found-artificial eyes show that medical science was developed in Iran in the past.
A gaming tool like backgammon has been found here that shows people had happy life. The city also had swage and system for transferring water.

This city in Persian is named as Shahr-e Sukhteh meaning a burnt city.

Since burnt things have been discovered, it is said that a disastrous fire broke out, here is called Shahr-e Sukhteh or Burnt City.
How to Get There?
We offer you to use a car of yourself. Jiroft is located 56 kilometers near Zabol road to Zahedan City. For staying, you can rent a room in hotels of Zabol. You cannot visit Jiroft in Fridays. Never forget to take a bottle of water because the weather of here is so hot.
