About Dowlat Abad Garden
Dowlat Abad Garden is one of the oldest gardens of Yazd in Iran.
The windward of this Garden with the height of 33.8 meters is the tallest known brick-made windward in the world.
History of Dowlat Abad Garden
Dowlat Abad Garden in Yazd was built in the last years of Afshar dynasty in 1160 AH by Mohammad Taqi Khan Bafghi, known as Khan Bozorg. Mohammad Taghi Khan constructed a 65-km-long Qanat to bring water from Mehriz to Yazd and then built his own magnificent palace. The garden, with an area of 70000 square meters, has many buildings, ponds and waterfalls. There are also lots of pomegranate and grapes trees in this historical palace.
The magnificent historic Qanat of Dolatabad, dating to more than 200 years ago, consists of 5 small qanats that after watering the city of Mehriz and crossing from more than 50 kilometers reaches Yazd and Dowlat Abad Garden.
Different Parts of Dowlat Abad Garden
The garden consists of two sections; interior and exterior part.
Dolatabad is a garden with the function of home and municipality. It means that the outer part of garden was the venue for holding ritual ceremonies and sporting events and the interior part was a private and residential complex.
Interior part
This section was the residential palace of the ruler and his family and it is consisted of the following buildings;

Haram
Behesht Aein
Kitchen
Turret
Cistern
Stalls
Vestibule Building
This building is one of the most important parts of the complex, in which the combination of air and water flows. In this building, the cool air flows from the downer parts which works as an air-conditioner.

There is a turret in the surroundings of Dowlat Abad Garden.
Exterior part
This section was used as caravanserai as well as a place for governing the city. The other parts of that are;

How to Get There?
The main gate of this complex is located in Shahid Rajaee Street, so if you want to enter from this door, you should go to this street; otherwise, you would go to Chahr Menar vicinity for the other door.
