Mir Fatah Ice-pit, Relic of Qajar era
Mir Fatah ice-pit is like a dome. It is placed in the way of Malayer’s Boulevard (15 Khordad Boulevard) to Borujerd. This place was built by Mir Fatah in Qajar era.
The height of the dome is 12 and height of the ice’s tank is 4 meters. This dome has two entrances. One of them is like a corridor which is used for discharging ice and the other one is for people to enter and exit.
Decoration of Dome
The only decorated part of the dome is the internal part which is decorated with bricks with width of 220 centimeters. In the external part of the dome, adore has been used as an insulation.
Materials of the Dome
In this place, unshaven stones with bricks have been used. As we explained, external and internal parts of dome are covered with adore as an insulation and doesn’t let ices melt in summer. In addition, external surface of dome is covered with white clay to avoid penetration of radiation of the sun. Some parts of this place have been destroyed but by repairing, it is used as a museum of an ice-pit.
This place, on march 5th in the year of 2001, has been recorded as a historical place.
