Central part of Iran is full of historical places dating back to the 11th century.
Semnan Province, close to Tehran, is one of the smallest but mysterious part of Iran. In this province, there are cities like Semnan, Damghan, Shahrood, etc. that they are home to historical places.
Along with Damghan to Semnan road, there is a tower named Chehel Dokhtar which is 15 meters in height.
The tower was built in the 11th century by Abu Shoja`e Isfahani.
On the outer part of the tower, there is an inscription which hard to be read completely but according to some of its word, we can claim that it dates back to 4th century A.C.
There is a grave in the middle of the tower and it is considered that Chehel Dokhtar tower was built before Islam entering Iran.
The most important material used to build the tower is brick and pot.
How to get there?
Damghan city has access to train so by taking a train, you can reach that city. After that, you can get a taxi to go to Semnan to Damghan road. In that area, Chehel Dokhtar Tower is seen very easily.
